Basiliscus plumifrons, also know as the green basilisk, plumed basilisk, or double-crested basilisk can be found in the tropical rainforests of Central America from Southern Mexico to Panama. You will find them mainly in trees of the tropical rainforests near rivers and streams where they can drop into the water when threatened. They have large hind feed with long toes, three of which are fringed, which allows them to run on the water for distances of up to fifteen feet and has given them the name of Jesus Christ lizard.

The Cuban brown anole (anolis sagrei) is an invasive species in Florida.. One with a red head is a variation not commonly found.

The ground skink (scincella lateralis) is found most often in open woodland with a lot of leaf litter. They range from northern Mexico through the lower elevations of the eastern half of the United States.It only rarely climbs trees and usually moves like a snake wiggling their bodies through the leaf litter on the forest floor.​
