Ring-billed gulls (larus delawarensis) can be found in parking lots, gargage dumps, fields, and on the beaches from upper Canada to upper Central America and the Caribbean anywhere there are large bodies of water both inland and coastal.Larus delawarensis is a short to medium distance migrant, wintering in the southern United States and to the southern edges of its range. It also occassionally wanders to western Europe.

Like most gulls, ring-billed gulls are omniverous opportunistic scavengers, eating almost anything they can catch or steal. That could be anything from crabs and fish to french fries and garbage. They will pester other birds to try to steal their food.

Most ring-billed gulls nest inland around bodies of fresh water.
