This person completely submerged themselves and their kayak coming down the sinks on the Little River in the Smokey Nountains National Park.

This tri-colored heron was wading the shallow in search of a meal in the lettuce Lake area of the Hillsborough river in Florida. It seems that it has just caught it's breakfast. 

Kayakers were running the sinks on the Little river in the Smokey Mountains National Park.

Greer Island Park is a hard to find spot on Aong Boat Key, Florida. As a result it is relatively deserted.

The mist helped to lend an air of mystery to this picture of an anhinga. 

It was a rainy day and this tri-colored heron had gotten soaked in the downpour. 

It was the juxtaposition between the moss and the yellow flowers and the was that the light hit them that drew my attention.

This Carolina wren looked all over this stump for something to eat. The carolina wren (thryothorus ludovicialanis) can be found east of the Mississippi River in the United States, and along the gulf coast states down into eastern Mexico. It likes wooded forest areas, ravines, lowland cypress swamps. bottomland woods, and neighborhoods with dense vegetation where it moves through low brush areas choked with vines, bushes and brush piles

This small, chunky songbird can also be seen going up and down treet trunks in search or insects, spiders and fruit that make up the bulk of its diet. It also occassionally eats lizards, frogs and snakes..
