Indian Blanket
The Indian blanket or firewheel is a member of the sunflower family. A native plant, it occurs from the middle United States south to Northern Mexico. its scientific name is gaillardia pulchella. In some places it blooms year round and it is the state wildflower of Oklahoma. These were found on a rural Pasco County road east of Dade City, Florida in April of 2016.

Spring Phlox
Phlox help define the curve in the road at the junction of Trilby Road and Harris Hill Road east of Trilby, Florida in Pasco County. Found mostly in North America, the 67 species of phlox occur in diverse habitas from alpine tundra to open woodland and prairie.Some flower in spring and some flower in summer and fall in pale blue, violet, pink, bright red or white and many are fragrant. Some grow upright and some grow short and mat-like.

Lilium Casa Blanca
The huge flowers of the lilium casa blanca are a brilliant white, formed in a way that shows delicacy and texture. its easy to get lost in the heady perfume of this oriental beauty. The casa blanca is regarded by many experts as the finest of the oriental lilies.

Variableleaf Sunflower
This variableleaf sunflower, helianthus heterophyllus, or wetland sunflower, was blooming in mid November of 2106 next to a seasonally wet area of a prairie in the back woods of Florida's Myakka River State Park. This sunflower can be found throughout the southeastern United States in wet, sandy soil at the lower elevations and can grow as tall as four feet high.

Pink Azaleas
Azaleas are flowering shrubs in the genus rhododendron that bloom in spring. They come in many colors from white and red to orange, pink and lilac.
Azaleas are native to Asia, Europe and North America. Many North American cities have azalea festivals.
The plant and the honey made from the nectar and pollen of the flowers is toxic. Because of this it is thought that honey bees avoid the blooms, while bumble bees are their main pollinators.
