Abrams Falls
he pool at the base of Abrams Falls on Abrams Creek Makes a wonderful destination for a swim. The trailhead for the 2.5 mile hike to the falls, which is rated moderate to difficult, is located at the west end of the Cades Cove Loop road.
At 20 feet in height,Abrams Falls is not tall, but the large volume of water makes it impressive. It also makes swimming near the base of the falls very dangerous. A number of people got too close and drowned.

St. Joe Sentinel
Look northwest along the shoreline of St. Joe Bay in north Florida from the Old Salt Works Cabins in Cape San Blas toward Blacks Island and the heart of the bay on a cloudy summers afternoon. This was during the scalloping season and St. Joe Bay is known as a prime destination.

Cape San Blas Shoreline
This is the Cape San Blas shoreline near the lighthouse in the panhandle of Florida. Located in Gulf County, it is on the road from the city of Port St. Joe on the way to St. Joseph Peninsula State Park, home of the largest dunes in the state of Florida and a favorite scalloping destination.

Lake Rousseau From The Northwest

Lake Rousseau is a 3,567 acre man made lake created when they dammed the Withlacoochee River trying to create the Cross-Florida Barge Canal. It is in west central Florida, bounded by Levy County to the northwest, Marion County to the northeast, and Citrus County to the south.

Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge
In 1963 the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service established the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge on part of the unused 140,000 acres of the Kennedy Space Center adjacent to Cape Canavera.l In 1975 they established the Canaveral National Seashore.
Today the Department of the Interior manages most of the unused parts of the Kennedy Space Center as a National Wildlife Refuge and Seashore.

Lettuce Lake Park
Previously used for cattle grazing, hunting and fishing, Lettuce Lake Park opened in 1982. The 240 acre park in Hillsborough County, Florida has well over one million visitors annually.
More that half lies in the natural floodplain of the Hillsborough River consisting of a hardwood swamp forest. The rest of the park is made up of hardwood hammocks and pine flatwoods.
