Landscapes

Pictures of all types of landscapes from Argentina, Costa Rica and the United States.

Browse the images below and travel from mountains, volcanoes and waterfalls to deserts and canyons.

Take rivers and streams to lakes and ponds.

Visit bayous, and fresh and salt water marshes. Then go inland to springs, fields and pastures.

Time For a Dip

Typical tannic water river in Florida in the spring before the rains come and muddy up the water. This picture of the Withlacoochee River between state road 50 and Silver Lake was taken from one of the sand bars in the river. It is a great place for a canoe or kayak trip, although I prefer the stretch between Silver Lake and Nobleton.

Flight of the Martin BW

This is just part of the Iguazu Falls from the Argentina Side of the river. If you look real closely you can see some of the martins that nest right in the falls as protection from the toucans and other birds that predate their eggs and chicks.

The Pier at Anna Maria

The Anna Maria City Pier with a restaurant and fishing as seen from one of the parking areas along the shore. The 776' long wooden Anna Maria Island City Pier was built in 1911 by George W. Bean's and Charles Roser's Anna Maria Beach Co. to lure wealthy visitors on Steamboats and paddleboats from Tampa, St. Petersburg, and Bradenton, Florida to the island hoping that they would invest in land there.

Today the pier and wharf extends 736" into Tampa Bay and is the host to a restaurant, bait shop, and any number of fisherman on any given day. It's a great place to fish, get a drink or a bite to eat.
